Our team was entrusted to construct all things concrete for the renovation of Hyer Elementary School. The reconstruction was one of the four Highland Park schools we helped rebuild in the last four years. Designed to replace its 71-year old predecessor, our goal was to ensure all students could be seated in their respective classrooms for the 2020-21 school year.
Due to surrounding residential homes, we worked hours that would be respectful of all residents, and even though the work site was constricted, our team did well on eliminating on-site congestion of materials keeping all workers safe.
The significant challenge of parking space for the faculty was solved by building a one-sided concrete wall parking garage below the school. The parking garage will also be used as a storm shelter for faculty and students.
