To increase the patient load and improve operational efficiency, Baylor Scott & White contracted Sizelove Construction to build this six-story, 164, 000 square-foot addition to the existing hospital. Our team was responsible for installing the foundation and building the cast-in-place structure for one of the nation’s best hospitals for cardiology & heart surgery, according to the 2019-2020 U.S. News & World Report “America’s Best Hospitals” guide.
Working on a tight schedule and starting construction immediately adjacent to an occupied and operating facility posed some challenges. To accommodate the new patience, a new team of doctors had a scheduled date for arrival. Our team had to work diligently and during odd hours to ensure the work would be completed on time. With critical life-saving surgeries taking place, we knew interference or interruption of the existing facility could not be tolerated; therefore, all drilling would cease during these essential procedures.
Our team adapted quickly to changes and are proud of the outstanding quality of the finished product.
